                                                          A Message From Mario

Thirty-two years ago, I was introduced to Iridology. Since that life changing moment, my personal journey has lead me to places throughout the United States and Europe to engage in some of the most in-depth study available in the field. I acknowledge Dr. Bernard Jensen, Dr. J.R. Christopher, Dr.Willy Hauser and Dr. Harry Wolf  for their pioneering work and for the valuable opportunities they gave me to work with them. Over the years, in addition to developing a private practice, I have hosted a holistic radio program, been a guest speaker on many television shows and have been invited to lecture throughout the United States on Iridology.

Iridology can provide a unique, easy, non-invasive, painless way to obtain information about your health.  Just imagine the value of being able to tell from outside of your body (your eyes) where  imbalances, tendencies, genetic predispositions and toxic buildup are occurring inside of your body. Once gaining this information, it must be interpreted by a truly experienced and knowledgeable practitioner who has years, not weeks of study. The eyes must be appreciated not only as the windows of the soul, but as the mirrors of the body.

Iridology is able to bring forth information about  physical and emotional stressors that affect a person's health. It can also explain how our personal history, relationships, family, job and position in the community affect our daily life. In addition, Iridology deals with emotions, herbal nutrition and diet. It teaches us that improper diet, poor elimination and how the negative way we think and feel about ourselves and others can contribute to many of the disturbances in our system.

Holistic medicine is a philosophy and awareness in healthcare, which encourages looking at a person as a whole and emphasizes personal responsibility for lifestyle and wellness. It focuses on client education and participation in the healing process. I feel that everything effects an individual's health; all factors, no matter how big or small, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and environmental. All interconnect and affect one another. At Jenkintown Alternative Healing Center. we are pride ourselves on knowledge, experience, support and care. I am excited about what Iridology has to offer, and I am excited about offering it to you.

Dear Mario,

My oldest son contacted head lice at school. We had to resort to using a harsh chemical shampoo to control the lice. He broke out with sores all over his head from the chemicals. If it happens again, is there anything else I can do that will be less harsh?   Sara in Princeton

Dear Sara,

Head lice can be very difficult to control . Try rubbing Vaseline into the scalp and hair. Lice cannot breathe and will die.

Also, there is now a product on the market that is made without pesticides.

Dear Mario,

I have heard that certain spices speed up metabolism? Do you know which ones they are? Lisa M./ Langhorne

Dear Lisa,

Cinnamon and cayenne are both thought to increase metabolism.

Dear Mario,

I attended  your guided meditation sessions last summer. I noticed that you are not offering them at this time. Are you going to offer them again? I really enjoyed the meditations and sharing with others. Sharon D.

Dear  Sharon,

Meditation classes are starting up this winter. The next class will be in January. Please check our schedule of classes for the exact date.

Dear Mario,

What is Stevia? Can I use it to replace artificial sweeteners and sugar and where do you get it? Gerry in Jenkintown

Dear Gerry,

Stevia Rebaudiana is an herb in the Chrysanthemum family which grows wild in Paraguay and Brazil. It's leaves contain glycosides and  stevioside, which make it have a sweet taste. The Paraguayan Indians called it Caa'-ehe or Kaa-he-e which translates as "honeyleaf" of "sweet herb". Today it is manufactured and sold in liquid, powder, or crushed leaf form and can be used to sweeten beverages or desserts. Many people use it to sweeten their tea or coffee instead of artificial sweeteners because it has no calories and no known side effects. It can be purchased in most health food stores. However, like everything else, you must read labels and ingredients. Some manufacturers add things like maltodextrin to the packets which is an added sweetener.

Dear Mario,

I attended your introduction to iridology class and found it extremely fascinating. I want to come for an iridology evaluation, but am concerned that I won't have time to follow all the herbal suggestions that I might need to take. What do you suggest?  Emily L. from Philadelphia.

Dear Emily,

In response to so many of our client's request for a simpler more user friendly protocol to follow, I have adjusted my programs to fit busy lifestyles. The new programs will be presented in stages, making them much less time time consuming to follow. I appreciate my client's input and will make every effort to accommodate your needs. Our services are here to serve you. As always, your good health is our only concern.

Anyone who would like to schedule an appointment for an iridology examination can call  our Yardley, Pa. office at 267-254-4144.

Dear Mario,

I've heard that some women can have too much copper in their system and it can make them feel nervous, tired, and very anxious. Can you tell me more about this? Rochelle H. in Haverford, Pa.

Dear Rochelle,

There is a very good book on the market that provides excellent insight into "copper" toxicity in women. It is called, Why Am I Always So Tired?, by Louise Gittleman.  In addition, an iridology evaluation can help identify copper excess. I recommend three herbs that can help you restore balance to your system. Because herbs are potent , they should always be used under supervision of an experienced practitioner.

Dear Mario,

My sister came to you for an emotional iridology appointment. What is the difference between regular iridology and emotional iridology?   Kathy R. from Cherry Hill, NJ

Dear Kathy,

Emotional iridology is a system of identifying behavioral, communication and relationship patterns according to the structural constitution of the iris of the eye. Personality traits, creative abilities, innate strengths and weaknesses that are acquired genetically can all be observed. These observations can give you profound insight into understanding your behavior and needs. I use my expertise and experience to determine what kind of support may be needed for healing and letting go of difficult emotions that can lead to anxiety and depression. For years, I have used emotional iridology to give me more insight into my client’s needs in the individual emotional awareness coaching that I offer.  A regular iridology evaluation deals with physical well-being.
