| Oil is an
essential part of our diet.
However, not all oils are created equal. Good fats keep the body
lubricated.; Bad fats keep the body clogged. It is a simple as that.
What are the good fats?
- Olive Oil
- Avocados
- Raw nuts and Seeds
What are the bad fats?
- Margarine

- Fat from animals
Hydrogenated oils are found in many packaged goods like crackers, cake
mixes, breads, cookies, cake and prepared foods. Read labels carefully and

On Tuesday, Oct. 20th,
1998, Oprah Winfrey's show with Dr. Bob Arnot and other researchers
commented about the link between hydrogenated oils and breast cancer.
Studies show there is a 40% increase in breast cancer in women eating
hydrogenated oils. They also presented evidence concerning flaxseed oil
and how by adding this to your diet reduces tumors by 50%. To get a

Question.
How can some manufacturers claim that their
product is trans fat free when partially hydrogenated oil is listed in the
ingredients?
Answer: Because FDA
regulations states that if a product contains less than 0.5 grams of trans
fat per serving size, they can list it as zero grams. The
can be misleading and confusing. Don't underestimate how .5 grams
can add up. If one cookie has .5 grams of hydrogenated oil or trans fat,
then how much does 5 cookies have? WARNING:
If the ingredients on a package list hydrogenated or partially
hydrogenated oil , it does contain trans fat, even if the label says, " NO
TRANS FAT". That is the .5 gm rule.. It can have it in small quantities per
serving and not claim it!! Question :
Which
is better, butter or margarine ? Answer:
Margarine contains trans fat, butter does not.. so butter in moderation wins out.
Olive oil is best.
